Position Purpose:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Cloud Architect to join our Cloud Center of Excellence (CCoE) team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud architectures on the AWS platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, assess cloud readiness, and design scalable, secure, and cost-effective solutions on the AWS platform.

Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cloud architectures on AWS, following best practices and architectural patterns.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Develop and maintain cloud architecture standards, guidelines, and documentation.

  • Oversee the deployment and integration of cloud services, ensuring alignment with architectural principles and business requirements.

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to development, operations, and infrastructure teams.

  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

  • Ensure cloud security and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Stay up-to-date with AWS services, features, and best practices, and recommend improvements or new solutions as needed.

  • Participate in the development of cloud strategies, roadmaps, and governance frameworks.

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture and design, with a strong focus on AWS.

  • Proven experience designing and implementing cloud architectures on AWS.

  • Extensive knowledge of AWS services, including compute, storage, networking, security, and management tools.

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.

  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices.

  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • In-depth knowledge of AWS cloud computing concepts, architectures, and best practices.

  • Strong expertise in AWS services, including EC2, EBS, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, and IAM.

  • Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, such as AWS CloudFormation or Terraform.

  • Familiarity with DevOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines.

  • Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Required Certification/Licenses/Training:

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional is desirable.

  • Other relevant AWS certifications, such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or AWS Certified Security - Specialty, is a plus.

  • Commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with AWS services and best practices.

Physical Requirements:

  • This will be a hybrid role located in Paramus, NJ.

  • Travel up to 20% may be required.
